Radioactivity Continues in Fukushima

Tokyo, Dec 5 –

Fukushima Still Radioactive

The Japanese Environment Ministry reported that more than 80 percent of the homes in #Fukushima prefecture suffered radioactive contamination as a result of the accident which occurred at the nuclear plant by the same name.

A study carried out by specialists in 58 Japanese cities of seven prefectures, determined that of about 100,000 homes affected by that event, only 18,000 have been decontaminated, according to a report by NHK television.

The report explains that the decontamination of open access areas, such as parks (38 percent), or roads and bridges, (51percent) has been more efficient.

It also informs that nearly 69 percent of schools (nurseries, primary and secondary schools) have been cleaned up.
